The Brief

When around-the-world Adventurer Leigh Timmis decided to smash the Guinness World Record for the Fastest Cycle Across Europe in aid of Mind, he was looking for assistance in targeting sponsors and promoting his brand. So naturally he turned to the video production experts at Archer Hampson to help him provide brands with the association with a major World Record attempt.

Our Thinking

At twice the distance of the Tour De France, The Fastest Cycle Across Europe (Cabo da Roca to Ufa) is an epic World Record established by Guinness in 2014, traversing 4000 miles from the most westerly to the most easterly extents of Europe, across 9 countries, the Pyrenees, the Alps and the Russian Steppe.

Having an excellent track record with producing videos for big projects, Leigh Timmis approached ARHA with a desire of wanting to promote his newest challenge, It was important to create engaging video content to build excitement around his attempt, and to document the 22 weeks of training ahead of him.

Our Actions

Featuring drones, hanging out the back of cars and traffic jams, our initial video was launched as a Friday short and received fantastic engagement across his various social media channels.

Since then, we have followed Leigh on a weekly basis out on his bike, visiting his nutritionist, psychologist and performance researches, and to date his videos have received over 100,000 Unique Video Views!

With our videos being shown at Derby Theatre and liked by BBC Presenter Zoe Ball, Leigh Timmis has already had sponsorship interest from a worldwide energy drink company, a global technology company, national law firm and a regional sports marketing agency – so watch this space for more news!
